booting continuously

Hello, everyone.
A few days ago I accidentally moved all files in /sbin directory, and our mail server wouldn't start anymore. The system tries to find the file /sbin/init which is not there anymore. (The file is actually in the /home-backup directory.)
There is no CD-ROM on this machine, and boot diskettes are not available because our OS is SunOS 4.1.4. However, one Sun (Solaris) machine is available now. So I'm considering about moving a hard disk to that machine.
Again the problem is the hard disk from the screwed machine is SCSI, and the hard disk of the available machine is IDE. There's no SCSI card, either. So I can't move the disk. Could anyone help me?

just a long shot, but you could set up the Solaris box as a jumpstart server, (see infodoc 16484 on sunsolve) and "reinstall" the old box. Make sure the install is non-interactive by putting bogus info in sysidcfg. When it gets to the interactive point of the install, break out and do whatever changes you can. It would help if you have a monitor and keyboard attached to the bad server. (You can right click in space to get a new xterm) This may not work and may screw up your SunOS box but it sounds like it's pretty desparate anyway
