Hi Derek Have you tried booting it from a cdrom first. Secondly is your ethernet interface connected to a hub? if you can boot from a cdrom and it is connected to a hub then try on ok prommt do boot -s and then do fsck / after it boots up. Gagan

Check your files, they are either corrupt or missing: /var/adm/utmpx /var/adm/utmp /var/adm/wtmpx /var/adm/wtmp
Check them, if so, boot from CD-ROM (OS) and copy the similar files from it to your '/var' filesystem/directory.
NOTE: If they exists, copy them to some location or rename them for backup purposes..., then retrieve the correct ones...

Hi
Many thanks for the Help, unfortunatly the Netra doesn't have a CDDROM unit ( a fatal mistake when we purchased them )
The O/S comes pre-installed

Hi
Hippee, some progress ( many thanks )
I've managed to get in and do an fsck, but it still failed to boot up correctly.
Managed to get in again and try sys-unconfig, but it gave the following :-
