boot Cdrom problem, on Sol 9

each time i try to boot from cdrom to install Sol 9 on my SunFire 4800, this error always pops up : can't open boot-device..
i've tried to rename the devalias, using nvalias and all, but nothing happens..even the damn dvd-rom won't run..i'm using a normal cd-rom to be bootted using a damn dvdrom..any problems w/ that?...thanks!
