Subject: Applying Patch OS: 5.8 CPU/Ram: 400/2
|
Comment: I am trying to apply 108528-23 SunOS 5.8 patch. In the patch installation instructions it is mentioned as "Reconfigure immediately after patch is installed ". What does it mean? Does it mean reboot with "boot -- -r" after the patch installation? In other statement it is mentioned as Patches which conflict with this patch: 109079-01 (or newer). We have this patch installed. How to deal with conflicting patch, if it is already applied? Thanks & Regards

Reply: (edit)you don not need to reboot with -r option with init 6 is sufficient remember this is the kernel patch install this in single user mode, to check if you have the patch 109079-01 installed use this command showrev -p | grep 109079 if you have this patch installed remove it with patchrm 109079-01. i hope this help you
