Apache on solaris urgent help requi

I have installed Apache Webserver 1.3.x on Solaris 8.0 and i want to configure for security i.e if any use try to access my server they have to get username and password window.How to do this ? how to gived aliases for links?

For Solaris X86 platform You need to modify /etc/httpd.conf file.

Add these lines if these are not present.

AccessFileName .htpasswd

now create a file named .htpasswd in the dir you want to password protected.

In the file .htpasswd use the acl to define password of text passwd file.
