Comment:

Hi, I downloaded apache server and follow the doc to install it. According the documentation openssl-0.9.6g need be added too. Apache pkg is added successfully, but openssl-0.9.6.g not. I try to start apache and failed. see following output.

# pkgadd -d apache-1.3.27-sol8-intel-local
.
.
.
/usr/local/apache/man/man8/logresolve.8
/usr/local/apache/man/man8/rotatelogs.8
[ verifying class ]

Installation of was successful.

# pkgadd -d openssl-0.9.6g-sol8-intel-local

The following packages are available:
1 SMCossl ossl
(i386) 0.9.6g

Select package(s) you wish to process (or 'all' to process
all packages). (default: all) [?,??,q]:

Processing package instance from

ossl
(i386) 0.9.6g

Current administration requires that a unique instance of the
package be created. However, the maximum number of
instances of the package which may be supported at one time on the
same system has already been met.

No changes were made to the system.
#

# /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start
Syntax error on line 241 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/local/apache/libexec/libssl.so into server: ld.so.1: /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: fatal: libssl.so.0.9.6: open failed: No such file or directory
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

How to fix the problem? Thanks

If you remove the generic SUNWapchd SUNWapchr and SUNWapchu packages and try to compile it again
I hope it will work fine then.

Looks like you already have a previos version of ssl installed. Run

pkginfo | grep -i ssl

In the output, see if there is an ssl package. If so, then remove it.

pkgrm sslpackagename

The try reinstalling the ossl package.
