hay guys..i have a sparc 5 and sparc 10
connected threw a hub .the hub is hooked up to a cable modem using dhcp.now the sparc 5 pulls the ip address of 65.88.167.35.
the sparc 5 has a cdrom the sparc 10 dosent
im trying to install solaris 8 on the sparc 10 over a network connection.i did all the stuff to the server(sparc 5) and ran the add_install_client and when i look @ my
proccesses running there is in.rarpd running so im assuming the install client script worked but wen i goto my sparc10 and type
boot net -install or even just boot net
it keeps saying
Timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packet

i almost got this thing whipped so any comments suggestions would be greatly apprecatied =)

I had that response before.
For me it meant that the ethernet address could not find the corresponing ip address.

Check the /etc/ethers and /etc/hosts files.

Make sure the ethernet address being sent by the client corresponds to the ethernet address in these files.
