Hi all, I need to get my 40gb hdd to have these O. Systems installed. Any suggestion? I know how to install win98 or winxp with linux or sol 8, but for 4 of them.... The following is my plan but dont know if it would work. The drive would be divided into c:(primary, win98 7gb), d:(logical extended, winXP 16gb), e: (logical extended, linux 7Gb),and free space for solaris 8 (10Gb). So using fdisk creates primary partition then creates extended partition with logical drive d: and e:. So install win98 on c:, then install winXP on d:, then install Solaris 8 on free space, then delete e: partition using fdisk and then install linux here. I did this because I only know how to install Sol 8 and Linux when disk space is unclaimed. OR install win98, then XP, then Linux on e: ( but would it get installed into free space, not in e:) , then Solaris 8 (multiple boot using sol 8 boot manager). I know it's not that simple specially determine which O.S. hold the boot manager. I might have to format d: and e: first so the O.S. would get install here ( with what and what type?). If someone could tell me how to do this in partition magic or ranish partition it would be great. I looked up some of their documentations and still dont understand. hope you did this configuration before. thanks |
