well, I'm really having problems here, I've tried to install 3 different ZA pro software on my PC runing win XP, and when it finish installing and tries to boot the program (to configure it) it suddently shows a BLUE screen that says :
***********************
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Win XP has been dissabled to avoid harm on your PC .......etc
***********************then I start in safe mode and everything is ok, I can boot and configure ZA but the icon is being displayed as an X......what can I do, someone told me that ZA is the best firewall ....but If I cant use it :(
thanks

I don't have XP but.... XP has it's own firewall which has to be disabled if you want to use a different one.
I have read that XP version is not very good, only stops dodgy traffic in one direction and does not alert you to a potential hacker (allowing you to do something about it).
To disable XP's version, go here..

or here....

Report back your findings for everyone (including myself) to learn from.

I would start simple. Uninstall zone alarm. Manually remove all za entries from the registry. If you do not want to do it manually, try a free program like regcleaner.
You might also be able to just do a System Restore from before all this started. If you downloaded your copy of za, you might have a problem with the downloaded file.
Restart the pc. In normal mode, disable the xp firewall as stated above. Make sure that nothing else is running in the background (like anti virus software) when you reinstall.
If you had an error with the first installation and did not completely remove it/fix it, the same error could have been present on subsequent installs.
Good luck.

Before uninstalling zone alarm to reinstall...first you have to disable the startup within zone alarms control panel (overview> preferances> uncheck load za at startup> ok)
reboot
uninstall za using the uninstaller that comes with za
reboot
make sure you have folder settings to view all folders...(hidden, etc.)
do a search for zllictbl.dat....delete it
run regcleaner as stated above....the first screen u get when regcleaner starts...check any zone labs entry...remove selected
then delete the following folders:
zone labs from c:\program files
zone labs from c:\windows\system32 (if found)
zone labs from c:\windows\profiles\all users\start menu\programs (if found)
internet logs from c:\windows
make sure xp's firewall is off as said above and reinstall ....should work now.
the za uninstaller works much better now than previous versions. I also find the new za pro much more stable and uses less resorces than older versions.
Good luck

well, I tried micgael2 and efabes method and it didnt work, I kept getting the blue screen at win Startup, and I also noticed that blender is right, the problem is that it always execute itself at the startup and since there's some problems with the program, XP shuts down :( , I'm going to try Blender's method, also......I have unninstalled all ZA software....so....in the first part of your explication are you saying that I should go on safemode?? , anyways what I don't understand is why I'm getting this blue screen.......since I had never installed ZA before......so I guess it must'd worked the first time.......
thanks for your help ;)

Ok...so I understand you uninstalled zone alarm probably without diasbling it in it's own control panel...and I also understand you can only get to safe mode without the blue screen.
I'm not sure but the blue screen may be if both xp's firewall and zone alarm were running...
From safe mode look for this entry in services...(control panel> admin tools> services...true vector internet monitor...
right click it> properties> from pulldown window set it to disable> apply> ok> reboot to normal windows.
Now to prevent any conflicts...I would make sure the xp firewall is off too...start> settings> internet connections> right click your connection> properties> advanced tab> make sure "protect my computer..." is unchecked> apply> ok.
If you did remove zone alarm as described above..you might also have to search for these files...use the search feature...start> search> make sure to search c:, all files and folders, hidden and system files and folders.
delete each one found....some you wont find...
zone alarm
vsdata.dll
vsdatant.sys

First back up registry...to do that

registry editor opens
click file> export> export to desktop> call it regbackup> ok
it will take a few min to copy the registry file to desktop> once you see the reg icon on desktop...we can continue
with registry editor open press ctrl+f keys

vsnetu.dll
vspubapi.dll
