Just recently started using the free Zone Alarm firewall. It seems to be pretty good, but I had one question: Every time the computer or the program is restarted, it loses all of it's settings. (such as settings for what programs are allow to access the Internet, even though I've clicked for it to remember the answer) I've looked around the program settings, but didn't find anything that looked like it had to do with this problem. Is it supposed to be doing this? Even though this computer stays on all the time, it's kind of annoying to have to fix everything if it needs to be restarted. It would seem weird that it's supposed to do this, (unless that's their way of getting you to pay for Plus or Pro...) so I'm inclined to think that I have something set wrong. Any suggestions?

I have never heard of recent problems with Zone Alarm ike the one you are having. Initially when XP first came out the old version of Zone Alarm had some problems. On my system it would completely disappear. What version are you using, and did you download it from the Zone Lab's website? I would try uninstalling it. Zone Alarm runs very deep into your system. Then try another download and installation. I have seen virus infections attack and disable it. If it were me I would uninstall Zone Alarm, do a system restore before Zone Alarm was installed to remove all traces of it. Then I would get either Sygate, Kerio or Outpost from http://www.pcflank.com/

I run Me and have no such problems.
BTW, I have your site spread all over mine. If you have any objections, I'll remove you.

lol, depends on what you mean by spread all over...
If I remember right, I'm using version 3.7 of the ZA firewall. I have heard some others recommend that Kerio firewall as well, so I may try that out and see how it is.

This is not suppose to happen. I think you may have your data base corrupt. If you are willing to try, here is a method to reset your data base:
You will lose all customizations in ZA, but it seems you do anyway!
1. Go into the Overview Preferences tab and turn off the autostart.
2. Reboot into safe mode.
3. Go into the folder named internet logs (do a search if you don't know where it lives it varies per OS).
4. Delete everything in that folder.
5. Empty the recycle bin.
6. Reboot into normal windows.
7. Restart ZA manually.
8. Recheck the Autostart.
If you don't know how to boot into safe mode read this http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406Hope this helps.
