I have a small network of 2 computers, which I would like to connect to the internet through this main one. Network adapters have been installed and configured, and work fine with no problems except the fact that ZoneAlarm Personal is preventing them from accessing the internet. I have tried several different ways, from setting specific IP addresses, to setting the firewall to "Off" for the network, and nothing works. It only works if the firewall is off completely (for internet and network), which I don't want since hackers will get through!
Please help, as I would like to resolve this frustrating problem soon!
FYI: The computer connecting to the internet has Windows XP Pro and 2 network adapters (one for internet, one for network), and the computer connection to the XP via hub has Windows 2000 Pro with only one adapter. Both can see each other fine and access each other's resources with the exception of the internet.
Thanks in advance!

have you tryed reinstalling zonealarm it is a pain in the *&^ but zonealarm can be like that and do you have the latest version of zonealarm and sometimes zonealarm likes to be installed first so you may have to format.
Thanks

Make sure that you have Zone Alarm set to allow for a local network. You probably set it incorrectly when you were doing the installation. It prompts you if you a going to allow a network with sharing during the installation. You can still change the setting by opening Zone Alarm and reconfiguring your network without uninstalling and reinstalling Zone Alarm.

Hmm... I'm not sure as to what you mean, however, the computers now work when the level is set to "Medium", which I'm a bit hesitant on. I'll try those suggestions, and will post back if I have any luck.
Thanks anyway!

Well.. I wouldn't proceed with the format/reinstall ZA - that's crazytalk.
Tech Support: "I need you to boot the computer."
Customer: THUMP! Pause. "No, that didn't help."

your post;
""Well.. I wouldn't proceed with the format/reinstall ZA - that's crazytalk""Roger that.......Lazy talk

hi sarah,
your local security setting has to be set to medium and your remote to highest to be still in stealth when you are networking.
all the best,
