Does anybody know if Zone Alarm has fixed the problem with System Restore and the last update of zone alarm (seems to make System Restore not work) Have requested several times to have a answer from zone alarm, but no reply on this matter as of 3 weeks.....

Sue, I use Zone Alarm plus with XP and have had no problems using system restore, used it only once though. I know Sygate and Outpost work well on ME, as I have installed it on friends computers. I used Sygate when I upgraded to XP last year, and had all kinds of compatability problems. I have installed Kerio on old 95/98 systems that had Pentium's with limited resources and small capacity hard drives with good results. I wish the staff at Zone Labs were more responsive to your question. All the best!

I am using Sygate right now, seems ok haven't had any problems yet, just wanted a back up if needed, but won't use zone alarm at least till they email me, I tried Kerio which hardly used any resources looked good but did not know how to configure it, it kept asking me stuff when I was getting connected and was afraid if I didn't agree I would not be able to connect, so just uninstalled and went with Sygate, but am so use to zone alarm, oh well. Thanks for your coments. Sue

Sue if you are unable to launch system restore, then you have corrupt registry. Zone alarm would not cause any issue with system restore and it not working

I don't nee to launch it, I read on this forum that zone alarm affected the system restore (the last updated zone alarm) so I checked my restore dates and they were gone, I uninstalled zone alarm and my restore points have been fine since, so it is for sure zone alarm's new download, and I am not the first one it has affected.

Hey Sue, I run zone alarm and XP. I just checked my system restore points because of your post. I don't have any problems. It might have been something else causing you all the grief. Just a thought.
