Zone Alarm updates necessary???

I frequently get messages urging me to update my version of Zone Alarm but am reluctant to do so after problems trying to install one such updated version some time ago. I went back to my trusty (I hope!) 2 year old Zone Alarm and it still passes all Steve Gibson's port probe tests at www.grc.com so I am not sure why all these notices to update it? Perhaps they are more important for Windows XP, I dont know. Any ideas?

Hi Albroun. I also receive the update notices with my version of Zone Alarm. I am reluctant too to update because I've read of the many bugs and problems with the update. I'm going to stay with my 3.7.211 version, as I'm quite happy with it. I also pass all of the Steve Gibson stealth tests, so, "if it ain't broke, I ain't gonna fix it"! Hope this helps, have a happy holiday! ~Tommyo

If you set the update feature to manual in the "overview area" of Zone Alarm, you will not receive these update reminders.

Summary: When trying to install the most recent Zone Alarm update I keep getting the pop message that True Vector service is not responding and that the installation is incomplete. Looking in the administrativ...
