what do you people think of Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite (pay-for includes firewall, antivirus, antispyware, etc.)? I just bought it and it is absolutely the BEST internet security program(s) i have ever used, and i have tried MANY differant ones, including Norton, Mcafee, and others, as well as seperate antivirus, antispyware, and firewalls, including Avast! AVG, Norton, Mcafee, Spyware Doctor, etc. Dont get me wrong i will still rely on Spybot-S&D and Adaware for spyware protection, but as far as a firewall and antivirus i have been highly impressed with ZoneAlarm internet security suite. it is the only firewall/antivirus out of many that i have tried that allowed me to visit a site that i know for a fact to have many malware and hacking occurances when it is visited, and ZoneAlarm security suite not only blocked all of these intrusions but told me exactly what they were and who made them. i have been very impresswed with it. it is HIGHLY recommended. does anyone else who has used ZoneAlarm Internet Security have any opinions on it? (i bought and use version 6.0.667.000) I would be glad to hear any other opinions from anyone else who has tried ZA Internet Security Suite. Cheers.

ZoneAlarm makes a great software firewall as far as a sw firewall goes and has always made good products. If you get a chance,take a look at Trend Micro AV or TM Internet Internet Security Suite. Has a few more features and may actually be better than ZA.

Actually, having had some compatability problems with ZA I prefer Sygate Firewall....best I ever used.

Unfortunately ZA has had its problems - version 6 was one of the worst when first released (read the ZA forums). I'm still using v4.5 (just the firewall) because after that they started to get too invasive & unfortunately they've gone the way of Norton etc. by trying to do too many things. Their antivirus seems to rely heavily on CA - their virus information pages are direct links without, unfortunately, the removal processes in a number of cases.
If you're happy with ZA then that's fine but don't be too disappointed if others want to stick to their own successful methods of protection & don't share your enthusiasm - lots of people are still very happy with Norton!.

Norton was unstable and had too many problems. a)every time i restart windows it says 'this msi must be launched through setup' which i was unable to fix even by following the program's and syamntec's instructions, and b)it WAS a resource hog.

Norton isnt trying to do too many things, their issue is symantec bought them and doesnt change anything. they leave it as is and never upgrade it....sygate willl see this son since symantec bought them (as well veritas...). NAV used to be one of the very best.
