I am currently using Zone Alarm Security Suite. I've been happy with it, but I've heard so much hype about how good an upgrade to PRO is.... Will buying PRO be an upgrade from the suite, or is the copy of ZA included in the suite already the PRO version? I would hate to waste money only to find out I already had it.

Hi,

Zone Alarm Security Suite is a fully featured 8 pronged defence against all those nasties. Zone Alarm PRO is not as fully featured as ZASS. PRO comes only with firewall, anti-spyware, ID privacy protection, email protection (4 pronged).

PRO is very good value for money, and is superb. Prob the best firewall on the market.

so going to PRO from SS you would actually be downgrading the feaures. You would then need to add an anti-virus from somewhere...there are lots of FREE anti-virus programs about.

am currently running PRO here and can't fault it. have got AVG anti-virus also.

ciao

Zone alarm sucks eggs, its absolutley cr*p.

As a fire wall its great, as an antivirus, or spyware sweeper its useless.

After countless infections (due to me downloading most probably) ZA couldnt find one virus, let alone the 3 or more trojans that were wreaking havoc on my machine!! lol

Im using avast antivirus, free if you dont mind downloading it from BTJUNKIE.org

Avast has found and destroyed hidden trojans that i had packed up in a setup file on my second HDD, the trojan had been there for around 2 years packed away - and not once has ZA or Norton ever picked it up.

ZA might be popular, but its rubbish as a complete protection.

but ZASS still recieves pretty good reviews Neal.......

Quote from PC Authority (last paragraph): "But for XP installations, this is clearly the best Internet security suite we’ve seen and, as such, it reclaims its place on the A-List."

........or, is money being slipped into ppls (reviewers) back pockets somewhere along the line ?? and we are all suckers in believing Security Suite reviews.....
