Good morning everybody :-) I was wondering something, a few months back, word was going around that there was a big security hole in, at that time, the latest Zone Alarm, both pay and free versions. It was also said that the pay version of the program would get fixed a.s.a.p, but the free version wouldn't for a while.

Does anyone know if it was ever fixed? I'm only making assumptions that it was since there seem to be quite a few in here using it. To be honest, I wouldn't mind giving them a shot again, the last time I used it I loved the interface.

I'm using Sygate, which I like, it does its job well, but I wouldn't mind if it explained some of what is coming in and out a bit better. But that being said, I will not trade security for a better interface. If the new version doesn't quite add up in the security scheme of things, I need to know. Thanks ladies and gents, have a good one.

Hey again everybody, I've done some quick research again at Wilders at places like that, and, based on that, I think I'll stick with Sygate. Zone Alarm evidently has a problem with taking away a feature, then when people chew them out, putting it back. Then it seems they try to take it again. I'm referring to a fight between customers and ZoneLabs over an auto-update feature if you're curious. Thanks everybody.

I like Sygate a lot better, but for some reason after the update they just had Plus also at the same time I partitioned my drive and installed Drive Image and messed around with taking a image and changed settings, but my Sygate kept shuting down, I reinstalled and redownloaded about 6 times uninstalling all rements each time and it made my mouse jump and when I moved over the icon it also turned off, so I did install zone alarm and truly believe Sygate has a lot more detail on backtracing than zone alarm there is a new edition for zone alarm, because I downloaded the old one and already had to update, zone alarm is working I don't know why.Zone Alarm is working maybe because I made some changes to my sounds (I read that some where and maybe that worked to fix what ever was wrong to enable zone alarm to work?) But if I had my choise I would choose Sygate Much easier too. Auto updates and installs, zone alarm you have to install, Sygate automatically lets answer phones work without putting in the number of the site and How in the heck do you clear the log files in Zone Alarm, and backtrace takes you to zone alarms site, where sygate tells you right there (Only talking about bothfree programs not the pro)
