Zone Alarm does not install

Specs: Vista Ultimate, SP2, 3.0Ghz/2Ghz
I was attempting to install Zone Alarm Virus and Firewall on my friends PC. There was a message which indicated that a web connection is necessary? It says downloading and it gives a progress statement that 0 of 76MB is being downloaded. Does the latest free ZoneAlarm require an internet connection to install? or is it a self extracting file? I am using the set up program I downloaded from Zone Alarms site.

Yes, you need a working internet connection to fully install that ZoneAlarm product. The initial download is only 5.5MB but it's just a "stub" file to initiate the online installation.

Online installation allows the product to be tailored exactly to your particular type of setup and connection so it can be largely "pre-configured" automatically for you.

OK, thanks. I guess that rules that out! My friend is on dial up!

If he's on dialup...why would he want zone alarm anyways? Windows Firewall would be all he should need.
