Hi, F-Prot Antivirus (on Win98SE) frequently tells me it detected ZMist.A in my memory (this seems to be a very advanced virus that integrates itself in program code). My problem is, if after a clean bootup I run a full disk scan, F-Prot will NOT find any ZMist-infected file on my disk. So this makes cleaning up a bit difficult! I've searched the web, but nowhere (not on the F-Prot site or anywhere else) I could find any info on what to do in the case of a ZMist infection. But I did find some info about other scanners (Kaspersky) giving false ZMist alerts, so I'm wondering if F-Prot might also be giving just a false alarm. Is there anyone around here who can tell me more about what to do in the case of a ZMist infection? Thanks, Henk
I found this at the Norton site but no helpful info, I always wonder why they bother to even list it if they cannot provide more info than this: W95.ZMist
Detected as: W95.ZMist Aliases: None Area of Infection: .exe Files
