Ijust got a new computer with XP home ed. and went to ZA site to download. It says the ZA Pro is compatible with XP, but it doesn't say that about the free version. Is anyone using it with XP and have you had any problems?

Thanks in advance.

ZA will work just fine. I would highly recommend two alternatives to ZA, SYGATE and TINY! In my experience they use less resources, have less problems, less intrusive and if you do not like them are much easier to uninstall than ZA.

I used ZA too, liked it so much that I purchased the pro version, but when I upgraded to XP I had some problems. Friends who had ZA and the Norton Firewall also had problems too. Switched everyone to Sygate and we all are happy campers. Be sure to get Sygate's free version for personal use. Like most sites it requires a little more attention, or go to DOWNLOADS.CNET.to get it.

Another question - when I get my two computers network going, will it screw things up if I have Sygate on one and ZA on the other? The old computer with ME will probably not be used for internet any more.

Thanks.

Dear All,
I was using 2pc and both are XP pro and Internet sharing with firewall activated. When I installed ZA, Internet sharing can't work!

I have been a ZA user for a couple of years now (free version) and have been very satisfied; however, I there are occasions that ZA just will NOT let me connect to the web (using WinXP). I have downloaded Sygate, and feel it is every bit as good as ZA, but it will not let me register. It keeps saying I am not connected to the 'net (I always am, since I have broadband) or either internet traffic is too high. This has been going on for about 6 weeks now...has anyone else had this problem with registering Sygate?

Next time it comes up, check you do not want to register. I registered during setup, and did not have this problem.

Thanks, Capt. After many attempts to register, I finally gave up, but everytime Sygate loads, the registration window comes up, and I have to click "will register later". No big deal, just a mild annoyance, really, but thought I would ask. I do like Sygate very much.....so far it is doing a great job for me.
