Hi kid, what exactly does that mean, to "secure the URL in a firewall". Do you know if the 3.7.211 version of Zone Alarm is capable of tightening up URL security????
Thank you for posting that info, and thanks very much if you could shed a little more light on URL security.

Hi there, where'd this site come from? I'm vulnerable but I don't think I can do anything about it. I don't think Sygate has URL filtering, at least not in the free version.

Gawd why isnt there a class action suit against Mickeysoft to fix its current products before they talk about making a future product they claim will be bulletproof? We dont need to wait on Bully Gates.

Kid.
Thanks for that! Just when I thought I was on top of most things my ice-cream turned to s**t. If anyone can tell me how to URL filter with Kerio 2.1.5 I would REALLY appreciate it.

Damn....Damn....Damn.....Damn.....

Microsoft just announced it will stop providing support for Win98. Ha! Like they ever provide support for anything! Gates holds the world hostage and charges big time for it. Doesn't fix anything UNTIL McAffee or Norton discover a vulnerability. Enough of those to keep them in business for a long, long time.

Agree with poster re: Class Action...I'll go one further...I think Gates should go to jail for extortion and fraud!

Feeling momentarily better now! :-)

Hmm, stop providing support for 98? I don't know about elsewhere, but around here a LOT of businesses are running 98, I've seen a few 95's at the local hospital (can't figure out that one really).

I'll have to look into this little info.

Ah, I see, they will still support it (for a while), they just won't release any patches for security threats on it (at least not obligated to). I'm not against it, it makes sense to me to retire it, I just wonder what all these businesses will do.

I guess they could still use them for data keeping and just leave the internet off of it.

O.K.
Solution...
I just installed Mozilla Firebird and it shows the full URL in the address bar. I have not read of any problems with this browser but, as always, I am open to enlightenment from members on this forum.

I too have Firebird, and frankly I like it a lot. There is one problem with it though. There has been a lot of talk about disabling this and that in IE and blocking only some scripting such as bad Active-X and leaving the legit scripting alone.

Well, in just about all other browsers, including Mozilla and it's little brother Firebird, there is no tweaking this and that. You either have java and javascript off, or it is full on, no blocking this but not that.

So as you can imagine, even though Mozilla and the like are considered "more secure", unless you leave all scripting and cookies off, you are still at risk of getting bad Active-X controls and other bad stuff.

Other than this main problem, Firebird is a great little browser, it's faster than Mozilla, looks nicer, and just seems to run more smoothly. I had Mozilla but something went awry and I could no longer search using it, got a "500 Server" error. It also seemed to start hanging.

Well I'll be buttered on both sides. Mozilla Firebird 0.7 acually passed the Mozilla test on the link

I also went to
http://www.jasons-toolbox.com/BrowserSecurity/
and gave it the once over. Apart from the Java issue it craps all over IE.

I read somewhere about a CD for Windows 98 users that is free from Microsoft, but can't find the information now. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks so much.
