It seems as if I have a virus in my email that is sending porn links to all my contacts. I am getting returned mail messages from some of them. How do I get rid of it this?

First check your 'sent items' folder & I'll bet the emails aren't showing there. If you only access your Yahoo mail using your browser, rather than using an email client, then it's not a virus problem, it's that your Yahoo account has been compromised and either your contacts list hijacked, or one or your contacts has been attacked and your email address is being spoofed. Start off by changing your password, but as the damage may already have been done, your best bet is to create a new Yahoo Mail account and scrub the old one.

Thanks for your respoonse ... But unfortunately, my email account and I are literally joined at the hip. It has a lot more information in it than I should have ever allowed, and its probably over 4yrs old. Its my communication I put on all my resumes going out, and contact information on stuff like business cards. It seems like activation of a new email account could be comparable to how painful it is after losing a drivers license, or maybe even how bad it is when you have to re-apply for a new social security number.

I think I fixed the same problem this week. I had some virus send emails to all my contacts in yahoo. So I deleted all the contacts today and have not yet seen any emails go out--they usually get sent once during the day and once at night. I will post tomorrow if this works. I still get all my emails, and will keep using Micorsoft Outlook rather than the web-only yahoo page. But this seems to have made a difference.

Update--it's been two days since I did this--delete all my contacts--and no spam has gone out. I do not have any issues with email sent from Microsoft Outlook, so deleting the contacts has worked--so far.
