It is a spyware/hijacker program. Go to Wilders.Org and get AdAware and/or SpyBot to delete it from your computer. Take care and all the best!

G'day,
I've just had to delete/remove this objectional piece of crap from my mate's PC on two occasions.
It gets everywhere and generally spoils a good day of surfing.
Question: He doesn't deliberately go to their site; he is not computer literate; he is fast getting piss** with all this; he has a bad view of the internet.
What do I tell him??
How do these low lifes get into his computer??
I've just installed zonealarm on his computer and I was wondering if I can set it up so that it blocks all xupiter traffic??
Also, he gets sites trying to connect him to a dialler (1900+++); how can I set his computer up so he will know if he is being re-dialled (internet dumping it's called here in Oz) to some 1900 number??
Any help/guidance will be much appreciated,

regards,

elric

Ad-Aware deleted Xupiter on my computer. I had to update the referencefile, thats the trick. Download Reference Update, then you easily check if you have the latest reference list. I allways deny cookies from those domainnames who install s--- in my computer, in this case xupiter.com. Ad it under "Internet options". I also block third party cookies. This is bad, because this normaly finance free webbs, but what should I do, when people missuse everything...
This is also the trouble with some programmers, who get little money to integrate spyware into their applications. When I find this, I will never use their apps again, by priciple!

I just found a new program that can be good for spyware, but I havenīt test it yet. Itīs called "Proxomitron" and can clean your webbrowsing so much that nothing will work, thats the problem, a lot of configuration... but free or should I say Shonenware, Iīm not sure what that means, but you donīt get any ads in it and you donīt have to pay for it!
