how do i boot from the cd?
trying to beat the virus/spyware that causes "antivirus 2009" pop-up

I don't think booting from CD will help your problem. I would try malwarebytes to remove the problem. There are also lots of good cleaners like CCleaner Slim, Super-Anti, Spyware Blaster, Spybot S&D listed on one page in my signature. I would suggest running those.
