XP System freezes

Specs: Windows XP
I am running XP and an AMD3500+ CPU. For a couple of months there appears to be a problem with the system freezing up. This can be a web page or a Word document. When you try to 'X' out, this will invariably freeze up that page too. AVG has in the virus vault the following: - C:/System Volume Information/_Restore, (C2EA31B7-9563-408B-844D-3C30CCED917E)/RP1123/A0243577.DLL.
I have two other PC's, one wired and a wireless laptop. They are not networked. The wired in one also freezes when my PC is on. This morning, I had my PC on and my daughter switched hers on (P4 CPU, XP) mine froze almost immediately. Wireless appears to be OK.
I have just renewed my router- Netgear DN2200 and the IP addresses appear to be OK.
Is this an issue with Rozena damaging the Registry somehow in both machines?
Many thanks.

Most likely. Try running Malware Bytes in Safe Mode if you can: http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&site...

Many thanks.
I have run this on both desktops and found 5 and 1 issues that have been deleted.
My PC seems a little quicker but there are still some freezing problems. They don't seem to lock one another up when running at the same time. Fingers crossed!
It may be time to reformat and reload XP.
