Comment: I am using a Win xp loaded pc, and i want share my files through LAN, but i was unable to share the files by assigning a password. (can share the files but could not assign a password) If i share the files now everyone can access the files. So do u have any suggestions

Reply: (edit)You need to DISABLE simple file sharing.
Goto Folder options in windows explorer -> views tab -> uncheck the 'Use simple file sharing' box.
