XP, all av software shut down

I have Windows XP Pro, somehow i got a virus which prevents task manager (ctrl+alt+del) from working, prevents all my av software running, prevents ZoneAlarm from running and many other irritating features, anyone kno what its called or how to get rid of it?

yeah, iv run mcafee and norton in safe mode, none of the other virus programs ive found have worked, however i can't update either mcafee or norton to the latest signatures as in safe mode i can't access the internet and in normal i cant run either of them at all :(

Panda online picked up something or other, but its still there, i found a german anti virus program that doesnt get shut down, it found loads of stuff, but virus or whatever is still there. it found loads of .cab's with [1] at end, but i cant find them :/
