Weird things were happening with my computer, so I installed norton antivirus 2003, and when I restarted the computer a big blue and red screen came up saying "Wyx.C (b) virus detected in memory, system will now shutdown." I couldn't even start up my computer, so I uninstalled NAV, and now I can use my computer, but I still have the virus. How am I supposed to get rid of it?

Try a trial of SOLO from www.srnmicro.com and see if it will identify and clean it. All the best!

First you will need access to a clean machine. Then go here and download F-Prot for DOS http://www.f-prot.com/download/index.html
How can I run F-Prot for Dos from floppy disks?
You need two floppies:
Copy on diskette 1 f-prot.exe, english.tx0, macro.def and sign2.def
Copy on diskette 2 sign.def
To Run insert diskette 1 of F-Prot™ and type:
f-prot /loaddef Follow instructions on the screen.

Solo and F-prot did not worked when I tried the procedures. I recommend using bootscan.exe of Mcafee. Run this in DOS mode. Command line: bootscan c: /boot /clean /nomem
