Write Erase

Does a write erase and reload clear everything? i.e. ip addresses in the interfaces, statics, acls? I'm pretty new to PIX and I'm experimenting with sending my config to a tftp server (write net) and then bringing it back (config net). I want to make sure I am very comfortable that I can do this before I play with larger changes to the PIX. It has been suggested that I perform the write erase reload before running the config net but I want to make sure I know what it is going to do.

Thanks for the response. I have read Cisco's info but they are not 100% clear on exactly what happens "clear the flash memory configuration". Does this mean that after the reload I am dead in the water until I load new config? That's what it sounds like.

If the pix is like cisco's routers then write erase wipes out all of your configuration , wipes out anything that is in nvram . Once you reload there should not be anything in your config file .
