Just a heads up to inform people who do not know on how easy it is to pickup spyware, hijackers, and then some.Anyway, i performed a fresh install of windows xp today, and just before I setup a internet connection,I made sure i had a FIREWALL,and ANTIVIRUS on my system before i was connected to the net,and online. After all this was complete i logged onto the net,and went immidiatley to windows update to recieve critical patches, and other windows goodies. After i completely downloaded everything into my system,I then was ready to surf the net.The second site i visited was majorgeeks to download HIJACK THIS,CWSHREDDER,SPYBLASTER,SPYGUARD,SPYBOT,AD-AWARE ,and when i was completely finished with these antispyware software, and all updated configured, and ready to scan,I then visited site # 3 wilders, and then # 4 msn,and then i logged off the net,and performed spyware scans which emerged DSO EXPLOIT,COMMON EXTENSION HIJACK,and a few others that are less harmless as some may call them.I did some research on DSO EXPLOIT,and found that it is.This is a trojan that causes Internet Explorer to display one location in the Address bar, but actually load the content from a different site. Such URL spoofing can result in attackers creating forged versions of legitimate sites in order to steal account information, personal information, etc.COMMON HIJACK EXTENSION sums it up well.Furthermore,as i have heard in the past by some that people pickup spyware, viruses,by visiting bad websites,I must assume that iam a perfect example that this is FALSE.I picked up these pests on visiting 4 websites.Anyway,I thought i would share this personal experience with others to inform that pests are not always picked-up just on bad websites.PEACE!!!

What you dont know is you picked up some just installing windows! Just a clean install of windows will install certain spyware that adaware picks up. Dont believe me? Install just windows and adware and do a scan and find out!

Roll with the changes! Lets Roll!

Joe, its like music to my ears!

I caught a lot of negative feedback a while back by posting that I never get virus's, trojans, spyware or any other bugs in XP because I dual boot with Millenium and catch all the bugs in Millenium which is restored in 10 minutes if it gets beyond repair but I NEVER EVER let XP go out on the net to play and therefore do not need security updates, Spyware sweepers, etc. etc. etc.

XP runs so much better without all that crap anyway! All antivirus and other bug catchers are run only in Millenium and I could care less if it catches the flu.
-----------
I am working now on another system to be KVM switched to a "Don't give a crap" Internet + Games Machine and I just got the bugs out of my Connectix version of Virtual PC to see how it stands up against the evils online and keeping them from my host PC.
-------------
Any other idea's out there? Connecting XP to any network or the Internet IS NOT AN OPTION!
