Hey guys.. My computer is filled with things I want to remove, but unfortunately my computers skills aren't that good. Can someone please help me?

Norton AntiVirus told me I have e trojan horse, but the programme failed to delete it. The trojan horse is called 12e0a.exe and it's now isolated.

I have something called hotsearchbar.com on my Internet Explorer, Ad-aware wouldn't remove it for me, do you have some tips? In the favorite map in Explorer I have som maps containing porn, it's not mine and I want it gone. The maps are called Teen Photo Galleries and Pics of the day and are connected to this link Lightspeedgalleries.com

And finally how can I remove Windows Messenger?

You can have my HiJackThis log....

first off u might want to look into useing a better antivirus scanner so here are your choices and things to do..

1. try one of the best antivirus scanners on market today....www.nod32.com.....its 30day trail so if u like it buy it if not after 30days just uninstall it.

2. you probably got tons of spyware adware malware crap on your computer so here are some FREE scanners.. they are better than nothing.

adaware6.0
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/default.shtml.en

spybot s&d
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

now a very fine paid version and one of the best are these

pestpatrol
spyware eliminator

3. as with any infection first try to boot to safe mode and run av scanner...restart computer ..press f8 key until u get a menu choice and choose safe mode..now run your antivirus

4. download some sort of firewall protection.

zonealarm free
sygate firewall.

these simple steps will help u out alot
goodluck if u require more help feel free to email me and i give u times i am online for troubleshooting and tech purposes.

I would help a norwegian gal anytime! Only wish I were there to help you by your side.

As for windows messenger do this,
go to start - run
and copy and paste this and click ok.

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

As for the hotsearch bar, have you looked in add and remove programs in the control panel and see if it is listed in your programs and tried to remove it there?

I got it doc, a log within this post
would be hard to answer.

I did email the original poster, waiting
for the results.

Kazaa is involved, took me a over an hour
researching the nasties.

Doc, sorry to shoot you down.

"Thank you so much for helping me.

As you can see on the HT logfile I have the entries that you mentioned. "

Thats all I got in conversation.

Hey again :)
I see you have been talking about me. To make the record strait my name is Sylvia and Silvia...And my blood is filled with oestrogen which makes a gal:)

To you doc: Thank you for the recipe for deleting Windows Messenger. For this you will always be in my heart. But, unfortunatly, I'm not Silvia and therefore you're not my "stud muffin"

To you Abnormal: Thank you so much for the e-mail. I have downloaded Ad-aware SE and removed 300 files. But there is still more to get rid off. With your second e-mail and can now finished what I've started. You're an oracle and one of Gods angel. Thank you jet again.

I apologize that my English vocabulary isn't the best. That's one of the reasons why the e-mail was short. The second is that it was friday evening here in Norway, and I was going out to party.

Tusen takk :) Dere er søte.

The one and only Sylvia!

Hi Sylvia
Better make this a new post so it easier can be seen. Also it's a new problem.

Sorry I cannot help you since I never used Kazaa, but I hear it's full of Spyware. Kazaa Lite it said to be better/safer.

Good luck
Nigel

kaza = viruses

trojan virus = unwanted searchbar on your desktop (or any other odd thing that you don't want)

the virus itself can be removed (if you have it quarintined with nortons) try going to their website they have instructions on how to get rid of certian viruses

i was able to get rid of the damage that the trojan did by doing a non destructive restore
on xp disk
