The scheduled security scan in Trend Micro keeps identifying the following as being on my computer: WORM_WALLON.A;HTML_JACKLER.A;VBS_PSYME.E;
HTML_REDIR.B;BKDR_ZGOO.A;
HTML_MHTREDIR.C;HTML_MHTREDIR.B;
HTML_REDIR.AC;HTML_MHTREDIR.D
(That's all on one line)
What I don't understand is how subsequent total system scans with Trend Micro, Panda online scan, Pest Patrol, Adaware and Spybot don't turn up anything. And yet, this security scan still pops up everyday, telling me I'm infected. The best I can find from the search engines is that this bug is only manifested through Outlook Express (which I never use). A lot of the links I've found keep taking me to Windows Update where I find nothing that's not already been put on my pc. I'm very curious if anyone else has seen this and how they got rid of it.

Since you use PC Cillian, have you followed Trend Micro's instructions for trning system restore off, available at

http://www.trendmicro.com/en/security/advisories/win_me_clean.htm

and then used their removal tool for your problem, available at

http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp

capt - I appreciate the followup
Yep - I looked at that removal tool - The readme.txt that comes with the cleanup tool doesn't list wallon. I ran it anyway and wasn't surprised when it didn't detect anything.
Just a note for your information, Windows 2000 doesn't have System Restore - this is one of those rare instances that I wish it did.

I would try Kaspersky. they have a on line scan.
You could also try the free trial version to fix the
problem. It is excellent at detecting/repairing
and repairing trojans and worms. You might have
to uninstall you existing antivirus program to use
the Kaspersky trial program. I also use 2000. I
am sure that you have checked, but is there
anything running in the task manager that would
lead you to the problem? Do you have msconfig
for XP, or a startup control program installed that
could be used to check for the bugger?
