Work Laptop hijacks my home router

Linksys Wrt54g2 wireless g router

Specs: Windows Vista, 2 gb
I brought home my Dell laptop from work. I just wanted to make sure it was working wirelessly beforee needing it for travel.
When I tied into the router the laptop renamed the router to the laptop's name, and I could no longer access the router with my normal everyday laptop!! The desktop which is cable connected was ok. I logged into the router but could not fix it. Factory reset worked. I did not turn on the work laptop again.

Any ideas?
