I hope I filled out the OS/CPU/RAM right.

About 2 weeks ago my computer was hit my Aurora popups. I tried doing what I was told to remove and it didn't work. Then all the sudden when I click links to download (and on occasion just regular links) the windows search wizard appears for about a tenth of a second and closes my download or link. Is this a virus? I assume it is. How do I remove it? I have Norton however I've not been able to receive the latest version as its to expensive. I've used some online virus finders and I have over 4000 infected files, but nothing has fixed it. The wizard still appears and I cannot get rid of Aurora.

Help Please.
Thank you very much.
Ashley.

Have a look here, it gives instructions to remove Aurora/Nail.exe.
You need to download three small programs, can you get access to another p.c and download to disc?

Also having Norton on your p.c without latest updates is unfortunately worthless.

You could try a free AV for now,at least you will be able to get the latest and up to date definitions.

AVG

AntiVir persoanl edition

Good Luck

try going into safe mode F8,
empty temp folders,
empty temporary internet folder,
scan with adaware-se or spy ware remover,
update definitions for virus scanner,
scan with anti virus,
if needed manually remove files to trash and empty,
check with regedit for files in startup and disable,
also search registry for related files and delete,
reboot and check for files again,
:)
