I've recently bought a wireless router. It is
Linksys - Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router with 4-Port Switch.

I've got it up and running with a password that was generated by the Linksys setup.

As I'm looking at the routers that are listed when I click on Connect to a network in the windows startup menu, it shows my system as "Connected". Most of the other systems are showing up as either unsecure network or security enabled network. Is this the way my system should appear when I'm looking at the "Connect to a network" listing? Why do I not see Security enabled network for my system?

When I hover over the name of my system, it shows:

the name of my pc
the signal strength Excellent
the security type WPA-PSK
radio type 802.11n
SSID Network

When I click on network in the start menu, and then the network sharing center it has this information.

network discovery on
file sharing on
public folder sharing off
printer sharing off
password protected sharing on
media sharing off

Should I turn off the file sharing for security purposes?

Is there a way to just share certain folders from one of my computers to another?
