I have had recent problems after accidentally clicking on a link to an illegal site.
They have resulted in "Winantivirus 2006" ads all over my computer, in addition to requests to install programs and even a web-browser-initiated hard disk scan by WAV06.
I deleted two processes that were running initially, called ishost.exe and ismini.exe, and three *.dlls that were created at the same time as the offending processes and my website visit. (I'm not sure if that's related to this, but worth mentioning.)
There was one *.dll that I could not delete, and after searching, I thought it was the Trojan.Vundo. However, the Symantec removal tool found nothing several times (even in safe mode) and here I am now.
I did Spy Sweeper's free scan and took a screenshot of what it found (since I can't quarantine). Here is the list that I copied:
- virtumonde
- security2k hijacker
- trojan agent winlogonhook
- trojan-busky
- thirty or so tracking cookiesAdditionally, a domain name mismatch occurred with an attempted connection to 'arl.org,' which I did not initiate.
I have a HijackThis! log, if it is needed, but it is the first time I've used HJT so thanks for your patience. Let me know what I need to do next as well or if you need any more info. Thanks!
Dave

Two other things, I have read previous threads about this problem and the solutions haven't worked.
Also, I am fairly certain there is a keystroke logger, since every time I type WinAntiVirus, a popup ad occurs.
Thanks in advance.
Dave

It is sometime a lenghty process in locating and deleting the offending files for these programs. Many people give up or get bad information and stop respoding to post.
First go to start> control panel> add/remove programs> and scroll down the list and uninstall anything with winantivirus pro or winantivirus 2006.
We need a Hijack This log which may or may not help at first. Please download HJTsetup.exe from this link http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.Continue to click "next" in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the "Select Addition Tasks" dialogue.
Put a check by "Create a desktop icon" then click "Next" again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click "Finish" and it will launch Hijack This.Exit Hijack This
Now rename hijackthis.exe as that sometime helps locate the baddies. Go to start> search> files and folders> type in the top space "hijackthis.exe" without the quotes> click search> when it is found in the right pane (looks like a pile of dynamite)>right click on it> click rename> rename it "show.exe" without the quotes> click a blank space on the screen.
Next run Hijack this again.
Click on the "Do a system scan and save a logfile" button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log and post it in this thread.Do not fix anything yet unless you know what you are doing. This is a powerful tool that can crash the computer if used improperly.
Post the Hijack this log please.
Please download SmitRemFix from this link http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip Then extract the contents to your desktop.
Open the "SmitfraudFix" folder and double-click "smitfraudfix.cmd"
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
Do not run any of the other smitrem options as they will damage the desktop of an uninfected computer.

Thanks for the reply. Here is the HJT log after renaming it to something less conspicuous:

I installed mIRC and uTorrent today, so that's why those popped up in the beginning of the log.I haven't experienced any popups lately so I'm thinking everything might be alright. Thanks again and let me know!
Dave

Your logs are clean:
Java has version 1.5.09 out now, you have the 07 version which is not bad but you should update.
You should add "Spywareblaster" to your arsenol of antispyware tools, just do a google search for spywareblaster, download it,install it, and update it. Its free and runs in the background, so you don't actually run it, and re-writes malicious script before it can install on your computer. Look for updates weekly as there is no auto-update on the free version.

I hope this proves useful to someone else with my problem since I searched for about five hours trying and retrying solutions. Thanks again for your help!!
Dave

I have used the
Trojan.Downloader.Busky Removal and it works fine. Actually its a combination of Ewido and SmitFraudFix
