I don't know anything about virus, I don't know how to properly explain what's wrong.
But I'll tell you what happens when I turn on my computer:

-It starts with the regular "HP Invent" loading screen.

-Then it brings me to the Boot menu. (recommending that I select to startup with last known good confifuration)

-So I select to startup with last known good configuration...

-Brings me to the "Windows XP" loading screen.

-Then it goes blank, and goes back to the "HP Invent" loading screen. The same thing happens if I start up normaly.

-If I select to startup in safemode, it shows a list of .sys files I think?? something about multi, disk, rdisk, partition.

-Then after a while it goes blank and brings me to the safemode loading page.

-After that it brings me to some screen that has a low resolution image of a mountain and a moon (something is written on the moon, looks like "wnpe" or maybe "wipe" I don't know... I don't even know if it's significant, but I can't do anything in this screen, there is a cursor, but nothing to click on. So I just restart.

-I went through restarting a few more times, trying different options, but they all just lead me back in the same circle. Back to the HP Invent screen. I have no idea what's wrong!!!!!!!

If it helps... this is what happened before the issue:

I downloaded a plugin from cellosoft called jtablet. After the download, it recommended that I restart, so I did. Once I had restarted I opened up Photoshop to test out the plugin, photoshop started to load, but then it stopped responding. So I restarted, and that's when the boot menu first came up.

Sorry for so much writing, I just want to give as much info as I can. I don't know how to deal with this since I can't even startup the OS and do ANYTHING. I'm working from another computer right now, but I need that one working.

Does any one have any idea what the problem is? Or how I could possibly fix it?

I really need help... anything is appreciated!

Thank you so much for reading..!

There are a number of reasons your PC might not boot (Viruses, Missing/Corrupt Files, Bad Sectors/Damaged Hard Drive, etc) but what I would do 1st of all is check if your PC will boot from a Bootable CD (the PC does not boot from the Hard Drive - just from the CD! and you can run programs from the CD to scan for viruses, change passwords, check and fix the hard drive, recover files, etc).
You may then be able to fix the problem (using the tools included) or at least determine if it is a hardware or software fault (if the PC boots from CD it must be Windows or the Hard Drive that is corrupt, if it wont boot from a bootable CD its probably another hardware fault. i.e. Motherboard / Memory)
You can get a Bootable PC Repair CD or a Bootable Bart Disk at www.discmaster.info
click here: http://www.discmaster.info/UK/tools... or here: http://www.diskmaster.info/USA/tool...
Hope this helps!
