Windows Not Responding on Login...

Specs: Windows Vista
Windows Not Responding on Login... I torrented a (Positive comments) version of Quicktime Pro, and when I opened a video file in Quicktime and saved the file to my desktop, I started getting the "Windows not responding" message, followed by "windows is restarting..." which makes the screen flash, and the desktop reloads back to the first "not responding" message.

I tracked the problem down to that video file I saved on the desktop. I can access and click on files still, using Task Manager, but when I access the "Desktop" folder and click on the saved file (a television episode), the folder immediately becomes non-responsive and tells me to close it. So I can't delete the file...

Any help would be most appreciative. I am running Vista Ultimate. I tried most everything... registry clean, disk scan, system restore, spyware/adware removal. Nothing has worked. Safe mode also does nothing.

I think I solved the issue. I downloaded a handy program called Killbox which deleted the file for me on reboot. Hopefully that solves everything.
