I have Windows XP and starting yesterday windows explorer will not launch. I'm a little hazy on the details of what happened as I was not here and my wife is trying to explain things to me 2nd hand and she's not that tech-savvy. According to her when she logged on in the morning, there were a bunch of system message popups that said something about a "Google error". She said she clicked cancel or "X" but things were not running right so she rebooted. Since the reboot, when either of us log on (we have multiple accounts on the computer), just the desktop background displays. I am able to access the task manager by ctrl-alt-del and run cmd or explorer by choosing "new task..." Once I open up explorer I'm able to go about doing whatever - I don't see any problems. But if I log out, then none of the other users are able to log in. When I click them and enter their password (from the main user screen on XP), it looks like it's logging on but then says logging off and returns you to the user screen. edited by moderator: Previous HJT log post deleted
