Comment: This is a reply to a question asked in A Previous forum, which has now closed: Any software that accesses either port 500 or 1900 is usually spy software, it is a redundant port used for play and play devices such as ssdp. Zone alarm pro realises this and on the whole will block any attempts to access it. But make sure that you instruct zonelarm not to allow SSDP or Windows Explorer to access the internet. Reply: (edit)You might want to allow Explorer to access the internet. For instance, if you're using Internet Mail, that is a part of Explorer. (yes - some folks are still using it because it's mot as vulnerable as Outlook Express).
