Windows Defender crashes

Specs: Windows 7
Hi everyone,
(p. s. forgive me if my English is not good, it's not my primary language)
I have a laptop that I use for gaming and school work. I believe I have been infected by a virus of some sort. I was running a scan with Windows Defender, when it suddenly disappeared without any notice or announcement of any kind. Immediately after, an Internet Explorer window appeared, opening a website filled with advertisements. I closed it immediately. I tried to restart Windows Defender, but it crashed (or just closed, I don't know) within seconds. The Action Center tells me that the Windows Security Center service is turned off, and I can't turn it on again. At this moment I am scanning my computer with Malwarebytes, and it found 5 infected objects (it has scanned about half of my computer). I will do the appropriate action when it is done, but is there anything i should do after?
Thank you in advance,

I forgot to mention, but I have McAfee installed, after a full scan it found nothing.
