Specs: Windows XP
Hi, when I logged on my computer today, my desk top would not appear. Also what's weird is that when my computer was turning on, the usual windows sound that it makes right before going to my desktop sounded delayed. Or actually, it played but my screen was still stuck at the welcome page for a while. And then it goes to my wallpaper but that's it.
I could only control my computer by using task manager.
System message tells me windows can't find explorer.exe Can anybody help me out?

Did you try to login in safe mode or using last successful configuration? If you succeed in logining in safe mode the run antivirus scan. I recommend to use Security Task Manager. If safe mode fails then make antivirus Live CD and run scan from it then run command line and type sfc /scannow there, it will restore all missed system files. drweb or kaspersky
