Subject: Winantivirus popup
OS: Windows XP SP2
CPU/Ram: P4/1gig
Model/Manufacturer: Intel
Comment:

I'm getting popups from WinAntivirus and other popups, most of them are for security programs and some for porn/betting sites.
I've tried everything that I could find on the net, no luck.
Can anyone help me out, thanks.

thanks for the reply.

the online scans don't do much to my pc, and the threads regarding hijackthis logs refer to precise issues on specific computers so it is very hard for me to apply same instructions.

I really need a "guru" to help me through this, I have been infected for the last 6 months.

While in the beginning it was much worse and I managed through time to eliminate "most" trojans, I still have now and then these popups...

Also have you disabled system restore then reboot to clear out the restore points?
then re-enable it
These nastys love to embed themselves into the restore files so they contuinue to reappear

I've checked my hojack log, seems fine, only a couple of question marks for some applications that are unknown to Analyzer.

System restore if OFF

Popups, however, are still there...
