Hi, I need some help with some pop ups including winantivirus pro 2006 & epass-key.com (videozapping). These popups are on a friends machine. I have run hijackthis but don't know how to interpret it.

Could not find Weather Bug in the Uninstall menu.

I don't see anything in the logs.

Go to start> control panel> display> desktop>customize desktop> web> remove anything that you have not put there except "My current home page". Let my know if you find anything there.

Try this please.

Please download Vundofix to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
Turn your computer back on. then post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt.

VundoFix reported no infected files.

You might try this. Open your Hijack This folder. Right click the hijackthis.exe file(dynamite package)> click rename> then name it show.exe.

Now run Hijack This (show.exe) and post a log.

Download SmitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop.
Doubleclick it and choose install. This will create a new folder on your desktop with the name smitrem.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

Restart your computer

After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;

Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;

Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".

Choose your usual account.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
Reboot back into Windows normal mode.

Put a tick by Standard File Kill.

Click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file.
It will ask for confimation to delete the file.

Go to add/remove programs and uninstall these if found:

Download "Adaware SE" from this link Adaware SE then set it up this way Set-up Adaware SE and run it. Sould get rid of the registry entries.

The popups seem to have stopped and the computer is running slow (normal) which is better than the v slow it was running when I got it.

Trt running error checker and defrag, may help a little with the speed. Then do a google search for the "hp" (04) items in the start up list as many times these can be removed.
