Comment: Help!! My PC worked fine one day but on start up the next day displayed just our wallpaper then flashed the Start Bar. The mouse and keyboard work but there is no Start Bar and no Desktop icons. When I Cntl+Alt+Del the dialog box appears but shows there are no programs running. Right clicking mouse does not result in a drop down menu. I have restored the registry to a known working day but nothing changed. Although there is virus protection in place, I'm concerned that the previous day's Internet visit may have brought something back. Any suggestions to run a virus check in DOS? I'm lost without all my windows based tools.

Reply: (edit)That is a VB command, so it might be a virus! I don't know why microsoft maded it but they made command's for Hiding they Incons, Start bar, Proces bar and so... but all thoe you can disable in Explore reference so there is no need for them!!! exept for Virus makers and Noob programmers
