win2000 update failure at fresh ins

anybody knows what's the probs....

i've re-install my win2k...usual installation till it finished. ive drived the vga, lan etc....then go to windows update....the page then shows all the updates available for my comp. ive selected sp4 first to be installed and remove other updates....then it finished then reboot....then next is ie6 sp1...it finished then go again to windows update...then comes the problem....'THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED"....i've tried to enable my automatic updates but no chance...it seems that i am blocked from the website....

i have with me my win2k license...how can i make my win2k be authenticated by microsoft?....can this be one of the resons?

please help....thanks in advance
