Can anyone help me with this either spyware or virus problem I am having...I had Belt.exe at one time, thought I got rid of it. But today I turned my computer on and a file was on my desktop that was named " ~ "?

Another thing...Hijackthis only shows 2 "svchost.exe" files...but there are 4 running in my processes..?

don't panic...4 or 5 svchost processes is normal; and 2 in the log - same on my box...

and you know your front door is wide open...
...where are those windows updates..

update windowsupdates;
check for updates to Hjt and leave in the header info >>rescan after all updates..
