I need help I think I have a virus on my aim profile similar to the realphx one. It says "whoaa look at what i found click here"
and then it sends you to a site and now i cant get rid of the link in my profile info! please if anyone has this let me kno how to get rid of it i dunno if its just a program or a worm.thanks
I do not know what this is, but try the following:
1. Run an online virus scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/.
2. Download, update and run Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy. You can get both at www.wilders.org.
3. Most important: When someone you do not know sends you something you are not sure of, DO NOT CLICK IT. It is called "social engineering." They try to trick you into running harmful code on your machine.

I ran all that stuff the ad ware and spy bot and updated. The link is still there i think it is inside my aim program. Do u think i should delete aim, then delete the files that contain and make sure its all gone then reinstall aim? I think thats what i was told to do and that that is the only way to get rid of the virus. thanks peace
Just an idea, but do you think it would work if you got the realphx trojan on purpose and maybe that would take over your profile/aim and get rid of the other one or whatever, because you can easily get rid of realphx with directions on their website
I have the answer to your problems. Visit this site and follow the instructions:
http://www.realphx.com/remove.htm
hello i was just windering if you have found a way to rid of the link...im having the same problem to & am not sure how to get rid of it
restart your computer in safe mode, then delete the b.exe file in my computer\C:\windows
you could also go here:
http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/
and download the hijackthis scanner (the green blinkin light) and delete it in there after that....but DO NOT delete other stuff, it could be important or vital. It could help with that Online casino thing too.if you don't know how to start up in safe mode go to Start\programs\accessories\system tools\system information.... then at the top click the "tools" and find "system configuration utility" click Diagnostic setup, and reboot, it will give you a safe mode option. there might be an easier way to do that, but thats what i was told.
also for the online casino, try Start\run, type in "msconfig".... under the startup tab you can choose which programs you want to open when you reboot, that online casino crap could be in there
I Tried like 5 or 6 virus programs and none of them worked. But, i think the safe mode restart/b.exe deletion has finally taken care of it. Shut off your computer. Restart it and hit "F8" once it turns back on. Choose "reboot" and hit enter until the computer starts up again. Then search your comp for a file named "b.exe". Delete this file. Now you can restart your entire computer and just erase that link for the last time in your profile! Good luck!
I have that same link on my profile, and i dont know how to get rid of it! I followed this response : I Tried like 5 or 6 virus programs and none of them worked. Yo Ohjay, I did what you did with the system tools, but when i cahnge it back, which one does it go back too. Because now i think i put it on normal and whenever i start up my comp, all the lil tools at the bottom right nect to the time appear, alot of em, and it makes my computer take a while to stop loading them all and makes my comp slower....you no how to fix this?
I got the same thing. Except I deleted the Whoaaa... link from my profile, and now I can't find b.exe.
Someone help me before I go crazy...
i clicked on the link in someones profile that said "whoaaa look what i found". i did not get that link myself in my profile but as soon as it downloaded my computer started freezing and when i hit ctrl+alt+del i saw all thes odd programs were open. i closed them down and if i hit ctrl+alt+del again they appeared again. the internet keeps freezing and programs keep popping up. i looked for av or ave.exe or b or b.exe and i cannot find these files. i refuse to go to the website and download the fix there because im sure the same people who gave me the virus wont help me. i ran norton antivirus and it says i dont have a virus and i ran my adaware program and deleted some stuff. my computer works better now but not like it used too. I don't know if the problem is i have windows 98 and alot of the directions are for WindowsXP and such. can someone please help???
ARGH! Nothing works. When I run the cure program, it says I'm clean. I still get pop ups though. Arg. Arg. ARG!
i found the cure http://www.rsaisp.com/software.asp
THANK YOU SO MUCH PACMANN! that thing was driving me CRAZY!
man is this thing nasty or what ...all i did was open my friends buddy info on my aim and she had this link in her buddy info that said whhoooaa look what i found click here and i did and oh boy....mad porn started popping up all over the place it took over my browser it changed my home page every time i restarted my computer this self extractor thing from win zip would pop up and install this adult links thing my pc started running slower...so what i did was run my norton anti virus that found this trojan sinkin thing about 5 of them and 2 other viruses so i figured it was gone ...nope..i had to install ad-aware 6 and spy bot search and destroy and use my norton to get ride of everything..now my computer is ok pretty much the only thing i notice is it takes for ever to restart now...like the shutting down process before it says windows is shutting down u kno it can take up to 10 minutes but other then that everything is ok
dgirli-
mine does the same thing, i didnt know it was from the virus. i got rid of it with the site http://www.rsaisp.com/software.asp, but my comp still has a lot of porn pop ups, and my homepage was always changing after i restarted. it took for ever to shut down too. did you get rid of it? what did you do?
The worm has installed spyware on your computer. You may want to do a follow up scan on your computer with a product like adaware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com) or spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) . You may also want to think about buying a virus protection package from Symantec (http://www.symantec.com/ ), McAfee (http://us.mcafee.com/default.asp ), or Trend Micro (http://www.trendmicro.com/ ) and letting it run in the background to prevent further incidents. Another useful tool I have recently come into contact with is a program called qwik-fix from www.pivx.com that will make sure your computer is not vulnerable to the latest attacks that are out there.
