I would suggest to download this ISO file with a non infected machine, burn it on CD and boot the infected machine with this CD.

Avira Antivir Rescue System
http://dlpro.antivir.com/package/re...

It's linux based and gives you the facility, to update the antivirus software first and then scan the whole system for rootkits, MBR scanning and the other viruses and trojans.

I just managed to get mycomputer and the desktop working and along with it all my startup programs like Win Messenger and Malware Bytes' started working too.
I'll now scan for malware.

I would suggest in any case, to scan your machine with this Rescue System.
In that case, no virus or trojan is running and can hide itself or block some processes, necessary to remove the virus or trojan.
You might also get in trouble, if your antivirus software has already been infected and shows, that there were no virus found.
The CD cannot be infected, the anvirus updates itself to ram and starts scanning with the most current virus definition files.
It does not install anything to your PC.
It only works from CD or RAM.

Not forgetting CD drives do not exist on the problematic computer so that won't work either.

But I'm downloading rescue system and I'll run it from one of my network drives.

Avast just found and removed a file called
ProccessCoordin.exe
I think this is part of the part where it keeps copying it self everywhere e.g. On to thumb drives with an autorun file.

EDIT:
And it has now found and removed replace.exe too

I assume that you have done the bootscan with Avast?
If not you may want to try that so it can scan without other processes running in the background.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
