Reply: (edit)If you are infected and something is detected in "restore", you will need to turn system restore off and restart the computer to clear those protected files. It is also necessary if you have an installed antivirus program, as worm/trojan/virus packets use them to hide in. HTH

Reply: (edit)Also sometimes needed to run scans from Safe Mode as the buggers often hide in "in use" Windows common files in normal mode. Spyware/malware scans sometimes from SM too.
