White fog covering screen, System Freezes

Specs: Windows XP
I am running WinXP Home Professional, and it was running perfectly untill I transferred some files via USB Stick, now there was a mild Fault on the First laptop and it was transferred via the USB Stick, the symtons are a Freezing up of the Screen with a faded white mist across the screen, the first laptop the (Source Laptop) obviously passed this viri to my new Dell Inspiron, 1 Does anyone know if this is really a Virus and has anyone comeacross this before? rem the screen freezes and you have to power down and restart can anyone help me, Im running Kaspersky Anti Virus but its picking up no Viri or any other annamolies on my machine I do not know what to do can anyone help? Thanks

I assume you mean viruses. Forget Kaspersky. Download, update & run anti malware from malwarebytes.org

Do that on all machines.
